Thinking about moving abroad? Talk to someone who built an expat career.
Building a career in a country you were not born in is a different sport: your network starts at zero, your experience needs translation, and the unwritten rules are written in someone else's culture. Whether you are about to leave or have just arrived and are starting over professionally, the most useful 30 minutes are with someone who has done it.
The paths on this page run into Germany, not out of it. One begins with leaving a country at 19, a degree nobody here recognised and a language not yet spoken, and sixteen years later this is home. Another runs from research and development in energy through international sales between Germany and the MENA region to examining patents at the European Patent Office. Nobody here has made the move out of Germany, and we would rather say so than put someone forward for it. You talk 30 minutes one to one by video, and your first session is free.

Frequently asked questions
Why not just ask ChatGPT or a coach?
ChatGPT can tell you the visa rules. It cannot tell you what the first winter feels like, how your title reads to a local hiring manager, or which part of the slow start is normal. A coach brings a method; a guide has moved, built a network from nothing and asks about your case.
My experience is from another country. Will it count?
More than you fear, less than it should, the difference is translation. Guides help you reframe foreign titles, employers and achievements into signals local hiring managers recognize.
Is slower progress abroad normal?
Yes, especially in the first two years, networks compound and yours is young. A guide helps you distinguish normal lag from a positioning problem you can actually fix.
